How to Make Your Own Podcast
Is it possible unless we cause our own podcast? Really can! As long as you’re clear on what needs to be done before deciding to start a personal podcast, here’s how to create a great big owl podcast:
1. Decide on the theme of your podcast
At present, there are already so many podcasts that are broadcast en masse through digital music facilities. Some podcast media mostly provide shows based on categories such as comedy, political news, sports commentary, music, movies and others. Choose a topic or niche that fits your interests.
2. Prepare the necessary tools
Instead, don’t use the built-in microphone on your laptop or computer. However, use a separate, more professional microphone at an affordable price, choose a microphone with a tone suppressor so that at least the sounds around you are not recorded when you speak.
3. Create the content
After choosing a topic and preparing the necessary tools, now you can prepare the script for your first broadcast. Especially for the first episode, make an introduction about yourself and what topics you can discuss on the podcast, you don’t need to be at length, but make short and informative explanations. Don’t forget, invite your friends as discussion partners!
Next, create a script for the podcast show according to the duration you specify, mostly around 20 to 60 minutes, related to the topic being presented. But remember, you only need to use the script as a benchmark for speaking, don’t read too much of the script because of course your listeners will be clear that what you are doing is reading, not presenting a podcast.
4. Use editing software
You can use tone editing applications such as Audacity or Adobe Audition as material for consideration. You can take advantage of Audacity unless you want a free audio editing software. However, unless you want a tool that is more flexible to use even though it is paid, you can take advantage of Adobe Audition which costs Rp. 285 thousand per month. Don’t worry, editing a podcast can’t be as difficult as editing a video! This is because you only need to enhance the audio, not the visuals.
5. Add captions and upload
Once your audio file has been created, it’s time for it to go live. You can take advantage of third-party facilities, in other words, third parties such as Anchor to upload podcast shows to various digital media platforms such as Spotify, SoundCloud, or even YouTube. When you first create an account, don’t forget to complete basic info, such as the name of the podcast series and a description of the podcast. Also, don’t forget to add a description of each podcast episode every time you upload a new episode. Write a 1-2 word summary that summarizes the main topic of the episode. If so, complete your podcast series with an attractive cover image.
